ACER / PACKARD BELL / EMACHINES SYSTEM RECOVERY PROCEDURE
Applies to; all Acer Desktops & Laptops manufactured since at least 2005, all Acer Netbooks running Windows, Packard Bell units from 2009 onwards and eMachines units made since 2008.
- Power computer ON
- Immediately hold Alt and repeatedly tap F10
- "Windows is loading files" will be shown. This is loading the recovery console
- When the recovery console loads, select Run full system recovery without backing up your files as this is the most effective
- Allow the procedure to run. When the progress bar reaches 100%, your computer will restart automatically and resume with the Windows first time setup.
TOSHIBA SYSTEM RECOVERY PROCEDURE
- Power computer ON
- Immediately tap F8 until a menu appears, which is white text on a black background
- You will see various options listing "Safe Mode" etc... ignore these, - select REPAIR YOUR COMPUTER with the enter key.
- After a short loading period, a windows vista themed screen will appear, with the option for keyboard language. Select your keyboard language.
- The next screen will ask you to select the administrator account, and enter the password.
- Now a menu with many options loads. Click on the bottom option, called Toshiba HDD Recovery.
- You will be asked if you are sure if you want to proceed, blah blah blah. Of course you do, why would you load this up in if you didn't want to?
HP / COMPAQ SYSTEM RECOVERY PROCEDURE
- Power computer ON
- Immediately tap F11
- This will load the System Recovery console. From here, it is very self explanatory, therefore I do not need to detail it any further.
SAMSUNG SYSTEM RECOVERY
- Power computer ON
- Immediately tap F4
- This will load the System Recovery console. From there, there are the options "Complete Restore" or "Basic Restore". I advise always choosing "Complete Restore" otherwise any problems may persist after the recovery is complete.
ASUS SYSTEM RECOVERY
- Power computer ON
- Immediately tap F9
- This will load the System Recovery console. From here, it is very self explanatory, therefore I do not need to detail it any further.
